David M. Robinson started his insurance career in 1959 working for Preferred Fire Insurance Company in Topeka. He then worked as an underwriter in McPherson for Farmer’s Alliance. In 1967, he joined McCune Insurance as an independent agent working side-by-side with his father-in-law, David McCune. Dave attended Washburn University and Baker University. He has been a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) for over 20 years and has been an active member of the Kansas Association of Independent Agents for many years.

Dave works tirelessly to better the Chanute area through his involvement in Rotary International, Neosho Regional Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, Neosho County Community College Foundation, Chanute Chamber of Commerce, First United Methodist Church, St. Cecilia Music Club, and others. He and his wife, Alice, were named the 2006 Partner in Progress by the Chanute Chamber of Commerce for their service to the community.

Dave is known for his “MacGyverisms” by family and friends, which means he can find a way to fix about anything. He enjoys home improvement projects, golf, watching basketball, and spending time with his wife, Alice, and their children and grandchildren. He also enjoys cruising around town in one of his two antique automobiles, a 1967 black Volkswagen VW hardtop and 1978 baby blue Volkswagen VW convertible.
